Human Resources Director Carla Williams receives new certification

One of Alcorn’s own has ascended into the stratosphere of her career.

Carla Williams, who is the Human Resources Director in the Department of Finance and Administration at Alcorn State University, received certification as a Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) earlier this month.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest human resources membership organization devoted to human resource management. SHRM is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of human resource professionals and advance the professional practice of human resources.

Williams’ new certification will allow her to continue her education in the field of human resource management. It also gives her the opportunity to train others in the field and do consulting work as a human resources professional.

Williams is excited about climbing the ranks of the human resources field.
