Alcorn alumnus Duvalier Malone to speak to graduates at Jefferson County High School Commencement
Fayette, Miss. native and Alcorn State University alumnus Duvalier Malone will return home to give the commencement speech at Jefferson County High School May 22 at 7 p.m.
Malone is the host of Growth Talk Radio and TV show, a community activist broadcast. Malone has traveled across the state and the world as a speaker at schools, colleges and universities. He is scheduled to release his book in the fall of 2015 titled “From the State Capitol to the Nation Capitol: An Awakening Moment.”
In 2013, he hosted the first installment of the Mississippi Leadership & Vision roundtable forum, where community and state leaders came together to discus the state’s education rates, economic development projects and mentorship programs for the youth. Malone also filmed a documentary on the Mississippi Delta called “Clarksdale at the Crossroad” in 2013. For the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington, he interviewed special guest and civil rights icon Congressman John Lewis. He was featured in the Who’s Who in Black Mississippi in 2012 and the Who’s Who Among Executives and Professionals in 2011.
Also in 2011, Malone created Duvalier Malone Enterprises. Under the umbrella of DME, he has established Dreams 2 Succeed, a youth oriented foundation.
Malone earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Alcorn State University. He later earned a master’s degree in political science with a focus in public administration from Jackson State University.
