Faculty and Staff Institute to focus on delivering great customer service
This year’s faculty and staff gathering will shed light on the importance of good customer service.
The 2015 Alcorn State University Faculty and Staff Institute will be held in the James L. Bolden Campus Union – Ballroom Monday, August 17 at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be served at 8 a.m. The theme for the event is, “World Class Customer Service.” The keynote speaker will be Dr. Evelyn Montgomery.
Montgomery, a Chattanooga, Tennessee native, is currently retired and the sole proprietor of Innovative Instruction and Consulting Company. She is also an associate of Ayers and Associates based in Washington, D. C.
Montgomery earned a doctorate degree in science education from Auburn University. She earned a master’s degree in biological science and a bachelor’s in biology from Tuskegee Institute. She has served in administrative positions at Tuskegee University, Alabama State University, Tennessee State University, Jackson State University and Talladega College.
Alcorn Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Donzell Lee said that exceptional customer service is key for continual success at Alcorn.
“Good customer service is a characteristic of a great institution, while poor customer service is associated with an institution that’s not very successful,” said Lee. “It is important that Alcorn displays exemplary customer service to maintain the greatness that it is known for.”
