Rhythm in Motion Golden Girls camp proved to be successful

About 40 girls ages 6-18 participated in the Rhythm In Motion Dance Camp Saturday, August 8 in the E. E. Simmons Gymnasium. The camp attracted participants from Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee.

The participants were divided into groups according to age and learned marching techniques, poise, posture, stand routines, field routines and other dance formations from the Golden Girls. The camp ended with a showcase of what the girls learned throughout the day.

Golden Girls’ coach Senobia Rogers was pleased with how well the camp went.

“The camp was a success,” said Rogers. “The children loved it. We are looking forward to having more camps in the future.”

Rogers said that the Golden Girls plan to have more camps in the spring and summer of 2016.
