Alcorn alumna Victoria Brinkley becomes new producer at WREG Channel 3 in Memphis
Alcorn State University alumna Victoria Brinkley has found a new gig.
Brinkley is the new television producer at WREG Channel 3 in Memphis, Tennessee. Prior to her new role, Brinkley, who earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Alcorn in 2010, spent three years as a producer for WJTV News Channel 12 in Jackson, Mississippi.
Brinkley credits her former role for teaching her the importance of making adjustments.
“WJTV taught me how to handle change,” said Brinkley. “The news industry is already a very fast-paced one, but there are unique factors that occurred during my three years that helped shape me into the producer I am. I’m looking forward to continuing that momentum.”
Brinkley advised future television producers to be aware of what’s happening in society.
“Pay attention to everything around you. You never know where and when you will find a story. I’m not in the field as a reporter every day, but I still keep my eyes and ears open and talk to people about what’s going on. The public deserves to know."
