Alcorn Extension Program to host a Wreath Making Demonstration
The Alcorn State University Extension Program will host a Make and Take, Do It Yourself Wreath Demonstration on Wednesday March 9, 2016 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Jefferson County Multi-Purpose Building, 307 S. Main St., Fayette, MS.
Jardana Brice, family and consumer science educator, will discuss topics on décor on a budget, when to shop and save, and beating retail prices.
All participants are required to purchase and supply their own materials which can be found at any local general merchandise store. Materials include a standard garden hose (any color), lightweight gardening gloves, glue gun and glue sticks, zip ties, colorful artificial flowers, and a roll of decorative ribbon or a bow. Depending on your preference, you may purchase additional items for your wreath.
Be creative! You may want to add even more decorations such as: artificial insects (lady bugs, butterflies, etc.), lightweight plastic flowers and watering cans, artificial animals (owls, birds, etc.) or wooden initials. However, to save money, you may want to utilize items you already own.
“Come and learn about ways to beautify and add value to your home while spending less and saving more cash,” said Brice encouraging the community.
Quoting Will Rodgers, she adds, “The quickest way to double your money is to fold it over and put it back into your pocket.”
This event is free and open to adults. Pre-registration is required. Contact the Jefferson County Extension Office at (601) 786-3131 to pre-register. For more information, please contact Jardana Brice, family and consumer science educator, at (601) 786-3131 or [email protected].
