Department of Finance and Administration participate in annual community project
Alcorn State University’s Department of Finance and Administration gave back to the community with showing an act of kindness.
The department partnered with the Natchez Senior Citizen Center to host the 2016 community project. During this event, the department provided musical entertainment, games and gift bags filled with gift cards and Alcorn paraphernalia to the senior citizen residence.
Linda Smith, property/inventory and administrative assistant to the vice president of Fiscal Affairs, said that the department was happy to spread cheer to the residents.
“It gave us a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment knowing that the senior citizens were thrilled to have us entertain them,” said Smith. “It’s important for Alcorn State University to express our appreciation and gratitude by giving back to our communities.”
The department provides community service throughout the year to residents in Adams, Claiborne, Jefferson and Warren counties.
