Ella Hudson wins 2016 Thomas Moman Sr. Meritorious Award

Alcorn State University alumna, Ella Hudson, was recognized for her dedication to the University.

Hudson was awarded the 2016 Thomas Moman Sr. Meritorious Award at Alcorn’s National Alumni Association’s 26th Annual Hall of Honor Induction Friday, May 6 at the Vicksburg Convention Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The award is given to the individual for his/her outstanding services and support of Alcorn’s local and national alumni associations.

Hudson said that being considered for the award was a big deal. Actually winning the award was a very special moment for her.

“I was happy just to have been nominated,” said Hudson, who serves as Alcorn’s director for the Office of Judicial Affairs. “I was truly elated to have been chosen to receive this award. It was really an indescribable feeling to be recognized for doing something from the heart.”

Hudson has been loyal to Alcorn’s alumni associations since 2013. She has served as recording secretary for the Jefferson County Alumni Chapter. She has also co-chaired the Jefferson County Alumni Chapter Annual Little Miss ASU Pageant. She’s attended the National Alumni Association’s Mid-Winter Conference. In 2014, she served as chairperson for the Jefferson County Alumni Chapter Annual Recognition Banquet.
