Jamaal Muhammad releases a book and lands a job in his field
New Alcorn State University alumnus, Jamaal Muhammad, hasn’t wasted any time laying the building blocks to his future.
Muhammad re-launched his book, “Life Through Poetry: Inspiring People All Over The World, One Poem at a Time,” shortly after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice Saturday, May 7. The book’s initial launch was in 2014.
Muhammad reached another milestone by attaining a case manager position at the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility. His duties will include examining offenders’ files, making sure to assist offenders with their needs, and to help register offenders in various programs, among other things. Muhammad is thankful to have found a job in his field soon after graduation.
“It feels great to work in my field at the Wilkinson County Correctional Facility. I want to thank my mentors, Mr. Alexander Martin and Mr. Alfred Galtney. They taught me and inspired me to go into this field. I love getting up every day to go to this job. I feel Alcorn did a great job at preparing me for this opportunity.”
“Life Through Poetry: Inspiring People All Over The World, One Poem at a Time” is available in the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at Alcorn.
