Mississippi Small Farm and Agribusiness Center to Host Local Foods System Workshop

The Mississippi Small Farm and Agribusiness Center and the Southern Rural Development Center headquartered at Mississippi State University will host a Local Foods System Workshop October 12. The event, sponsored by the School of Agriculture, Research Extension and Applied Sciences will be held on the Lorman campus from 9:30 a.m. to noon in the Ray Johnson Assembly Center, Extension & Research Complex.

“This event will be useful to a multitude of local/regional food system stakeholders including producers, food-related businesses, entrepreneurial service providers, and technical assistance providers,” stated Elizabeth B. Myles, marketing specialist and workshop coordinator, School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences.

The event is free and open to producers, institutional buyers, processors, distributors, and others involved in local food systems. Participants can register for this event at www.tinyurl.com/msufoods.
