Ravola attends Center for Clinical and Translational Research Summer Institute

Dr. Martha Ravola, interim chair and associate professor, Department of Human Sciences, was among 10 faculty members and researchers from major public universities throughout Mississippi to attend the Mississippi Center for Clinical and Translational Research Summer Institute, held July 10-14 at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The objective of the summer institute was to provide participants the needed input to develop a community-engaged, obesity-focused, research project as an effort to improve the health of Mississippians.

“It was a very enriching experience,” said Ravola. “The institute created a platform to frame networks with researchers in multiple disciplines across the state.”

The summer institute is a collaboration among three partner institutions, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Tougaloo College, and The University of Southern Mississippi.
