Miss Alcorn to host Ebony Magazine Top 10 HBCU Campus Queens voting party
On Thursday, Jan. 18, Miss Alcorn State University, Kristina Brown, will be hosting a voting party in the multipurpose room of building B in the Medgar Wiley Evers Heritage Village Complex at 6 p.m. to garner support from fellow Alcornites during her Ebony Magazine Top 10 HBCU Campus Queen campaign.
Not only has Brown used her platform in the surrounding communities, she has also impacted the lives of young ladies at Alcorn.
Senior biology health science major, Jada Marie Spann, said, “Kristina and I began our college journey as roommates, and we're graduating as best friends. She's a friend who I can depend on, lean on and further more, a friend who's an inspiration to myself and others.”
Senior criminal justice major, Madeline Hardy, stated, “Charisma, honesty, inspiration, commitment, humbleness and positivity are all the qualities of a great leader. Knowing how to work with others, being able to say ‘we can do this together’ and not ‘this is what I want you to do’ shows the spirit of guidance. To be able to find a leader who possesses all of these qualities is a challenge, but that is what you will find in the loving spirit of Kristina Brown.”
Junior Biology major, Andrea Johnson, stated, “Not only is Kristina an amazing leader, she’s very intelligent and outgoing. Kristina is a very friendly person. Students should vote for Kristina as Ebony’s HBCU Campus Queen because it will be a good look for Alcorn. Students, faculty, staff and alumni should vote for Kristina.”
Brown stated that, “This will be a chance for me to gather with my fellow Alcornites as the deadline for the contest approaches. I believe that students should vote for me because if I’m among the young ladies who are chosen, it will give me the opportunity to represent the university on a big stage."
Brown is one of 63 campus queens from historically black colleges and universities from around the nation competing in Ebony Magazine’s HBCU Campus Queens Contest. "Ebony Magazine" will select the top 10 campus queens to represent their schools in the online voting competition. You can vote as many times as you like. Voting ends at 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20.
