Kimberly McDonald Taylor inspires others with her custom jewelry

Kimberly Mcdonald Taylor, an Alcorn State University alumna, has made a mark in the world by transitioning her career from classroom teacher to entrepreneur.

Taylor, who taught for seven years throughout Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia, is the owner and creator of ALiSFE (A little something for everyone). She began her business by making jewelry, posters, and shadow boxes. She uses her business to motivate and encourage others. Taylor stated, "Every piece of jewelry has inspirational quotes inside telling people to dare to be unique, dare to be bold, dare to be you, just dare. Everything is bigger than the jewelry or the business; it is more of a movement motivating people to dare."

After becoming involved in schools and community programs, Taylor, who received a bachelor's degree in family and consumer science and a master's degree in elementary education, knew she wanted to motivate and encourage others by being a connection between the community and schools. Taylor stated, " AliSFE is a great way to use a visual to empower and educate women and young people.  I wouldn't have been able to take advantage of this opportunity if I would have stayed in the classroom."

ALiSFE has been in business for ten years. Taylor's daughter, Zoie, became involved in the production process when she learned how to create beads and how to be a young entrepreneur.

Taylor will be attending The SUCCESS Women's Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi on Sept. 21 and 22 at the IP Casino and Resort.  The SUCCESS Women's Conference is for businesswomen who are looking for a change in health, wellness, and business.
