University College/First and Second Year Experience to host upcoming Roundtable Discussions

Two of Alcorn State University’s units will sponsor meetings that would aid in the matriculation of young students. 

University College, along with First and Second Year Experience will host Roundtable Discussions Thursday, Oct. 4 in the J. D. Boyd Medgar Wiley Evers Library Auditorium from 2-2:50 p.m. Staff members will discuss topics such as health and wellness and counseling services. 

The discussions will continue in the same location Thursday, Nov. 1 from 3-3:50 p.m. when the topics will be financial literacy, career services tips, leadership development, and social media etiquette.

University College is a multi-faceted unit that connects key university programs to set students on a path to academic success. The program spans from recruiting high school students to ensuring freshmen and sophomores are meeting their academic goals. The First Year Experience (FYE) is a program designed with the new students in mind and carries the experience of orientation throughout the year.
