Department of Human Sciences Reflects and Revitalizes at Annual Faculty/Staff Retreat

The Department of Human Sciences held its 2nd annual Faculty and Staff Retreat  Tuesday, July 30 in the Eunice Powell Building on the main campus.

According to Dr. Martha Ravola, interim chair, and associate professor, the event served as an opportunity for department faculty and staff to prepare for the upcoming school year.

Dr. Frances Andrews, emeritus professor and former chair, Family and Consumer Sciences, the University of Montevallo and Dr. Amy Yates, professor, Department of Human Ecology, Louisiana Tech University served as the event's guest speakers. The speakers covered topics such as the Body of Knowledge as well as accreditation standards of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences.

The event fostered connectivity and camaraderie among members serving in the department. It also created an opportunity for everyone to share their inputs and learn about the future of the department.

"The positive impetus exhibited among faculty and staff in the department is promising of a productive academic year," said Ravola. "We are prepared and dedicated to serving our students better."
