Alcorn’s School of Nursing ranks among best online master’s programs by U.S. News & World Report
The Cora S. Balmat School of Nursing at Alcorn State University is recognized as one of the best online programs for master’s degrees.
The School ranks 103rd among 179 programs on U.S. News & World Report’s 2022 Best Online Master’s Nursing Programs list. It has the third-highest ranking among nursing schools in Mississippi.
“Our School of Nursing goes above and beyond to provide a quality online learning experience for its students,” said Dr. Felecia M. Nave, president of Alcorn State University. “We are extremely proud of their hard work and commitment to serving our community and preparing the next generation of healthcare professionals.”
U.S. News & World Report’s ranking assessed more than 1,700 programs, up from over 1,600 last year.
Rankings are determined by assessing four areas — technology, student services, reputation among peers, and faculty credentials.
Alcorn’s School of Nursing was founded in 1977. The School has produced hundreds of entry-level and advanced practice nurses employed in various healthcare settings throughout Mississippi and beyond. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including an Associate of Science in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing, and Doctor of Nursing Practice.
