Michael Harper has been appointed Director of Career Services and Preprofessional Programs at Alcorn State University.
Prior to his current position, Harper served as a career specialist in the area.
Before returning to Alcorn, he was senior manager of Domestic Ground Operations for FedEx Express.
“My most important achievement is becoming a staff member at Alcorn State University, which allows me to share my real-world business and leadership experience with our students,” said Harper. “I am dedicated to giving back to my university and fostering the growth and development of future generations.”
During his tenure at FedEx Express, Harper received numerous honors, including the FedEx Five Star Award twice. This recognition highlighted his contributions to the organization and commitment to delivering outstanding results. In addition, he was honored with the FedEx Leadership Award, which acknowledges his ability to inspire and guide his teams with a sense of purpose.
Harper’s service to FedEx was further recognized in 2017 when he received the Profit Manager of the Year award.
He holds membership in the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the National Career Development Association.
He earned a bachelor’s degrees from Alcorn State and American InterContinental University.
