The Office of Broadband Expansion Accessibility for Mississippi (BEAM) calls on Mississippi residents to participate in the challenge process to ensure that every remaining unserved and underserved address in the state receives high-speed internet access.
Alcorn State University’s Office of Economic Development & Community Engagement is hosting a community meeting on July 30 at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. Interested individuals can join the meeting by visiting https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5488248580?omn=89103632424.
Residents can help correct any inaccuracies in the broadband service map and ensure their home or business is included in the Broadband Equity Accessibility Deployment (BEAD) federal funding program.
The BEAM team has updated the state’s broadband service map, and residents are encouraged to visit www.beam.ms.gov to check their address on the latest map. Follow the steps below to check your address.
- Visit www.beam.ms.gov and check your address on the latest broadband service map.
- Identify your address dot color:
-
- Pink or Blue Dot: Already identified for BEAD funding.
-
- Green Dot: An internet provider is funded to serve your location.
-
- Gray Dot: High-speed internet is reported as available, but if you disagree, you are encouraged to participate in the BEAD Challenge Process.
