Alcorn State University will host the Fall 2025 InterConnect: Career Expo and Internship Fair on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2025. The event, organized by the Alcorn Office of Career Services and Pre-Professional Programs, will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Davey L. Whitney HPER Complex’s arena.

The fair is a valuable opportunity for students to connect with nearly 40 employers and organizations seeking talented individuals for internships and full-time positions. Recruiters from various fields will be on-site to discuss career paths and job opportunities with students across all majors and classifications.

“Our office is committed to ensuring students are prepared to make the most of this opportunity, and we look forward to an outstanding event,” said Michael Harper, director of Career Services.

Harper encourages students to follow these tips to prepare for the fair:

  • Research Employers in Advance: Review the list of participating organizations and identify those that align with your academic and career interests.
  • Update Your Resume: Bring multiple copies of a polished resume to distribute to recruiters.
  • Dress Professionally: Wear attire that reflects professionalism.
  • Prepare Your Introduction: Have a clear and confident 30-second introduction that includes your name, major, career interests, and what you hope to learn from the employer.
  • Ask Thoughtful Questions: Show genuine interest in the organization by preparing a few questions that go beyond what can be found on their website.
  • Follow Up: Collect recruiter contact information when possible and send a thank-you email after the fair.
