Alcorn State University’s Child Development Learning Center (CDLC) is now accepting state-approved child care vouchers through its new “Access for All” campaign.
The initiative supports affordable, high-quality early childhood education for families qualifying for state or federal assistance.
Located in the Eunice Powell Building on the Lorman campus, the center aims to remove financial barriers to learning.
Qualifying families can apply benefits directly toward tuition costs at the licensed program.
Geneiiah Weddington, Ed.S., director of the Child Development Learning Center, said the move expands equity.
“This is an exciting step forward for the ASU Child Development Learning Center as we continue expanding access and equity in early childhood education,” said Weddington. “By accepting child care vouchers, we are strengthening our commitment to serving families, supporting diverse needs, and ensuring that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.”
Weddington said the advancement is an investment in the future of children.
“As director, I am thrilled about this advancement because it represents more than a policy change,” said Weddington. “It is an investment in families, opportunity, and the future of our children.”
The CDLC provides a safe environment led by experienced teachers focusing on play-based learning and social-emotional growth.
The campaign utilizes targeted outreach and partnerships with local agencies to promote inclusive learning.
