School of Agriculture gearing up for inaugural Ag High School Day
The students, faculty and staff of Alcorn State University’s School of Agriculture, Research, Extension and Applied Sciences are busy planning their first Ag High School Day. The event will be held Thursday, April 28,from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Jesse A. Morris Sr. /W.C. Boykin Agricultural Science Building.
According to Casnacita S. Gray, student services coordinator, Ag High School Day will be a day of exposing students to educational and career opportunities in agriculture.
“This open house is designed to help inspire students to focus and make the connection between academics and career preparation as well as highlight the many opportunities available in agriculture, human sciences, biotechnology and advanced technologies,” said Gray.
High school juniors and seniors from across the state, as well as various parishes within Louisiana, are invited to attend.
