Freshmen seek to better their matriculation at Alcorn during Lunch and Learn Discussion

Alcorn State University's First and Second Year Experience Program hosted the Sophomore Year Experience Leadership Round Table Lunch and Learn Discussion Wednesday, April 4 in the J. D. Boyd Medgar Wiley Evers Library Auditorium.

The purpose of the discussion is for freshmen to explore options for success that the University provides for students matriculating on campus. Topics will range from choosing the right major, community service participation, academic advisor meetings, pursuing internships, study abroad programs and much more.

Dr. John Igwebuike, vice provost for Academic Affairs and Student Records, was the speaker for Wednesday's event.

"About 75 percent of what you hear, you will forget within moments of hearing. If you want to be a leader, you have to read. You cannot spell the word read without E A R. One thing about me, I like to expand my classes vocabulary and the word I chose today for you is prolegomenon," Dr. John
