U.S. Army’s Aviation Semi will be stopping at Alcorn
An opportunity to learn about aviation is on the way for Alcorn State University's Army ROTC students.
The U.S. Army's Aviation Semi (AS3) will make a stop on campus Monday, April 1. The Army ROTC will host the event, which will be open to all students. The event will be held in the parking lot in front of the campus bookstore and will start at 9:30 a.m.
AS3 travels all across the country to inform students about what the Army has to offer.
The AS3 is a 60-feet, 30-ton tractor and trailer asset that is a self-contained mobile aviation exhibit and simulation. It has multiple simulators such as the AH 64 Helicopter Flight Simulator, OH 58 Helicopter Flight Simulator, and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Flight Simulator. The AS3 also has a variety of multi-media systems: 2x Immersa Domes, 3x touch screen computers, Air Warrior and weapon displays. The computers are linked to Goarmy.com and other Army career websites. There is also access to Army careers and educational videos.
Head Army ROTC recruiter, Greg Tronic gave insight on the upcoming event.
“It's always good for college students to know what the Army is all about. They may decide that the Army is for them. If it's not at least they will have information about what careers are available,” said Trotnic.
