Alcorn State University ROTC Joint Training Exercise Announcement

On Oct. 13–15, the Alcorn State University Braves Battalion ROTC will be conducting a joint three-day field training exercise on the Lorman campus with ROTC cadets from Jackson State, Grambling State, and Southern Universities that includes the use of a Louisiana Army National Guard CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

The ROTC cadets will arrive by helicopter and are scheduled to land on the soccer field at noon Thursday, Oct. 13. The soccer field will be closed 30 minutes before the helicopter landing and remain closed until departure.

On Friday, Oct. 14, the Cadets’ training exercise will include blank rounds under the supervision of officers from 6 – 10:30 a.m. and from noon to 4:30 p.m.

The campus may hear increased noise from helicopter flights and training exercises.
