Alcorn State’s Marketing and Communication Division wins CPRAM honors
The Division of Marketing and Communication at Alcorn State University brought home four awards from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi (CPRAM) annual conference held in Oxford, Miss.
CPRAM is a consortium of public relations professionals employed at Mississippi’s public and private colleges and universities, as well as affiliated education agencies.
“I am so proud of our extraordinary team,” said Larry Orman, vice president of Marketing and Communication. “They are creative, dedicated professionals who selflessly put in long hours to help tell the remarkable story that is Alcorn. The recognition of their work reflects well on their wonderful talent and the institution they represent.”
Alcorn competed in the senior division, which includes four-year universities across the state of Mississippi.
Tommie Green, digital media specialist, won the top prize in the Photograph category for Alcorn’s 2022 Commencement Ceremony. Additionally, Greene placed second in the same category for the 150th Gala. Aaron Tatum, junior graphic designer, won first place in the Single Piece of Artwork Sports category for his design of the Braves Football Tractor Trailer. Tatum also earned third place in the Illustration category for his work on Blaque Panther: Rookanda Forever Omega Week.
Last year, Justus Reed won first place in the News Story Sports category for “Alcorn’s Women’s Cross Country Team Wins First SWAC Championship in Program History.” Reed serves as a public relations coordinator in the Division.
Green, Tatum, and Reed are alumni of Alcorn.
