Special from the United States Coast Guard
On September 21st, the United States Coast Guard Traditional Jazz Band presents “A Tribute to The Blues”: 1 p.m. at Alcorn State University’s Joyce Bolden Fine Arts Building Recital Hall. This performance is free and open to the public and features the music of “the father of the blues,” W.C. Handy, among others.
The Traditional Jazz Band is one of many small ensembles drawn from the 55-member Coast Guard Band stationed at The U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT. The group has performed across the country and around the world as musical ambassadors for the service and is proud to perform Traditional Jazz in the Delta!
