Get ready, Braves! Alcorn State University’s highly anticipated annual Bravefest is back, and this year it’s bringing the vibes of the California desert to Mississippi. Dubbed “Bravechella 2025,” this year’s edition promises a week of much-needed springtime fun and campus unity, kicking off on Sunday, April 13.
Students eagerly await Bravefest each year as a vibrant highlight of the spring semester, offering a chance to unwind and connect with the university community. Inspired by the renowned Coachella music and arts festival, this year’s theme is sure to amplify the excitement and spirit of togetherness.
The festivities will begin on Sunday with an Artist Reveal Party at 9 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. Doors will open at 9 p.m., setting the stage for a week packed with engaging events.
The fun continues with Skate Night on Monday, April 14, from 7:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the E.E. Simmons Gymnasium. On Tuesday, April 15, the Campus Green will be transformed into a Carnival Extravaganza from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., offering classic carnival thrills and entertainment.
On Wednesday, April 16, students can enjoy Club Cafe from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Clinton Bristow Dining Hall. The week culminates in the highly anticipated Bravechella Concert in the Davey L. Whitney Gym, with doors opening at 6 p.m.
Bravefest has become a beloved tradition at Alcorn State, fostering a strong sense of community and providing students with memorable experiences. “Bravefest is one of those magical times of year when the campus truly comes alive,” said Naundra Lyons-Heidelberg, director of student engagement. “This year’s Bravechella theme promises to deliver another exciting and unforgettable week on campus.”
