Alcorn State University’s Center for Conservation Research will host a free training workshop for farmers and anyone interested in learning new growing methods.

The workshop will take place Thursday, July 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the university’s conservation research site. Buses will leave at 9:30 a.m. from the Ecology and Natural Resources Building, which is the first building on the left before reaching the security gate on campus.

Attendees will learn how to grow muscadine grapes. They will also learn how to grow turmeric using organic farming. The workshop will teach how to boost vitamin C and healthy compounds in blueberries without chemicals.

Registration is free, but must be made in advance. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

This is an outdoor event. Individuals should dress appropriately for hot weather.
