Dr. Jennifer Young-Wallace talks value of education during commencement speech at Antonelli College in Jackson

A former Alcorn State University professor recently spent time encouraging students at a Mississippi college graduation.

Dr. Jennifer Young-Wallace, the current CAEP Accreditation coordinator and assistant professor in the College of Education and Human Development at Jackson State University, served as the commencement speaker at Antonelli College Saturday, March 16 at the Belhaven Arts Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

In her speech, Wallace motivated the students to be lifelong learners and to stay on the path of excellence. She also reminded them to face every day with enthusiasm, anticipation, and confirmation that they will achieve their goals.

Wallace appreciates being chosen to spread inspiration to the graduates.

“It was truly a blessing and a humbling experience to have been selected to speak to a group of graduates who defied the odds and continued their education,” said Wallace, who earned a bachelor’s degree from Alcorn in 1991. “I was thrilled to have such an opportunity to inspire someone else.”

Antonelli College’s mission is to create an environment that prepares each graduate to become a qualified professional and well-rounded individual.
