2012 HBCU Awards

Good Afternoon,

I am writing to you to first congratulate you as alumni officers and advocates of your institution. You are receiving this communication because your alma mater has been nominated for a 2012 HBCU Award. The HBCU Awards is celebration of the extraordinary people, organizations and groups doing amazing work to promote HBCU culture worldwide, and is the official fundraising event of the Center for HBCU Media Advocacy<https://www.hbcumedia.org>, a federal 501(c)3 organization promoting media literacy and development at historically black colleges and universities.

Because you are an alumnus of one of the nominated institutions, you have preliminary access to reserve tickets for this event, which will be held on April 20, 2012 on the campus of Bowie State University at 7:00 p.m. On that evening, we will present awards to the winners in the multitude of categories we have for this year, which you may view at hbcuawards.net/nominees<https://hbcuawards.net/nominees>.

Tickets for the event are $70, which is a tax deductible gift and includes dinner for the evening. We anticipate that this event will sell out, and want to reserve space for the nominees and their families in every instance. Therefore, we are asking that if you cannot come, please forward this information to members of the Baltimore-Washington area alumni chapters of your national organization, in the hopes that they can attend to support your nominees, and to possibly receive awards on the nominees or institution’s behalf should a winner or university official not be present.

If you can confirm your presence, and a number of those who will be joining you, please forward to this address so that I may forward to you ticket purchasing instructions. We ask that you make these reservations ABSOLUTELY no later than MARCH 20, 2012, as the sale of tickets to the general public will begin on that day.

Should you have any questions about the event or the time, please do not hesitate to email or give me a call. Congratulations again on the excellence being produced at your institution on a daily basis, and your role in ensuring that excellence for years to come.
