The Division of Marketing and Communication welcomes Stacey Springfield as senior graphic designer.

There have been plenty of technological advances over the years, but those changes never stopped Vicksburg, Miss. native by way of Indianola, Miss., Stacey Springfield from adapting to the changes and perfecting her craft.

“After studying design in school, I just took the time to learn more," said Springfield. “I would read as many designing manuals as I could. That helped me become better along the way. My friends, who were also graphic designers, and I learned different programs while learning from each other.”

Springfield is the Division of Marketing and Communication’s new senior graphic designer. Springfield's duties include organizing, creating, designing and executing a variety of complex web-based and/or printed material projects including view books, brochures, illustrations, catalogs, booklets, original web designs, among others.

Prior to joining Alcorn, Springfield worked as a graphic designer for HMI Buying Group in Vicksburg, Miss. She has also done different freelance design projects for Entergy, Diamond Jacks Casino in Vicksburg and Hederman Brothers Printing in Ridgeland, Miss. Springfield has 15-years of graphic design experience.

So far, Springfield really enjoys her new job at Alcorn. For her, the best part is facing different tasks on a daily basis.

“I love my new job. It’s challenging and I get the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. I think it’s cool to work on different assignments and not the same thing every day.”

Springfield’s experience in graphic design gives her the confidence she needs to be a valuable asset to Alcorn.

“My experience as a graphic designer will allow me to bring a different approach to creating designs. Working with the Alcorn family, I look forward to implementing fresh, new designs."
