Alcorn student organizations donate to fire victim student
Alcorn State University student organizations came together to aid one of their peers.
Alcorn’s Student Government Association, Facilities Management, student ambassadors, a number of Greek organizations and the student body raised $410 for house fire victim and Port Gibson, Miss. native Rakeem Washington. The students also collected clothing, canned goods and toiletries for Washington and his family. The donations were given to Washington and his family Tuesday, April 14.
On Tuesday, April 7, Washington’s Port Gibson home was destroyed by a fire that was caused by a malfunction in their electric heater.
