NIFA e-Newsletter: Fresh from the Field

My name is Falita Liles and I am the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA) Impacts and Outcomes manager, and editor of our new online eNewsletter, Fresh from the Field.

A little about me: I graduated from the University of South Florida’s Master of Library and Information Science program and have been fortunate enough to work for USDA’s National Agricultural Library, George Washington University’s Mount Vernon Campus, and the University of the District of Columbia. I spent eight years as a member of the Planning, Accountability, and Reporting Staff at NIFA providing financial reports and working on special projects.

Now about Fresh from the Field. Replacing our former “Impacts Spotlight,” Fresh from the Field is a weekly, multimedia album of success stories about NIFA grantees: land-grant and non-land-grant universities, small business, community groups, federal agencies, state institutions, nonprofit groups, researchers, and other partners. The stories featured showcase the transformative and groundbreaking discoveries and societal impacts and outcomes your organization is making with support from NIFA funding. Our aim is to get your successes in front of Congress, the news media, farmers and producers, the American public, and those who have an interest in food and agricultural science, extension and education.

We encourage you to submit journal articles, news clips, videos, fact sheets, presentations for inclusion in Fresh from the Field. Also, feel free to showcase your NIFA-funded successes anytime on our impacts hashtag.

Sincerely,

Falita
