Preschool Transition Program to be held at The Child Development Learning Center
With its upcoming event, The Child Development Learning Center at Alcorn State University will celebrate the success, development, and promotion of its preschool students.
The Department of Human Sciences will host the annual Preschool Transition Program Tuesday, July 31 from 10-11 a.m. at the J. D. Boyd Library Medgar Wiley Evers Auditorium. The Program's goal is to applaud preschool students for completing their educational requirements and making a smooth transition to kindergarten.
"The program is a celebratory event where children's accomplishments would be showcased through their performances," said Dr. Martha Ravola, interim chair and associate professor in the Department of Human Sciences. "Children who transition from preschool to kindergarten have been performing well in school. It is very encouraging to receive positive reports from parents and children who have transitioned from the Learning Center."
Ravola explained the significance of the children's promotion to the next level in their education.
"Transition is a significant step in the life of a child. The Program is a way of announcing children's transition from preschool to kindergarten as they have accrued the early learning skills needed for formal education."
The Learning Center strives to recruit new members by sharing the mission of the Learning Center and allowing teachers to share the curriculum.
