Homecoming Parade Information
September 15, 2022
Dear Prospective Parade Participant:
Alcorn State University invites you to participate in our homecoming parade on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
The parade will begin at 9:00 am. You should plan to arrive through the campus’ back gate entrance: Highway 552 by 7:00 am. Once you arrive, you will be directed to the parade parking zones, you are to keep your group on your bus and representatives from Alcorn will board your bus and place wristbands on all participants. Marching bands needing to change into uniforms should use Eunice Powell & James L. Bolden Campus Union’s restrooms. Your group must be in uniform in order to be recognized as an official parade participant. Persons not in uniform &/ not part of the chaperone count (4) will not receive a wristband.
Due to COVID-19, adult groups will not be invited to march in the parade as this is a recruiting tool & we need to keep the participation count low.
The ASU Braves will play Texas Southern. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Your group may enter the game using:
- Any access gate (wristbands must be worn).
- Please have the correct numbers listed on your response form; we must have a total count for admission to the game.
- Only four (4) chaperones per group will be permitted to enter the game free of charge; additional chaperones will be required to pay the admission fee of $30.00/35.00 day of game.
Please complete and return the form to the Student Engagement Office via email: firstname.lastname@example.org / fax to (601) 877-6329, on or before Friday, October 14, 2022. There is a cap (1,500) on the number of participants; meaning registration can close before the October 14th deadline. You will be notified by the Office of Student Engagement if your registration has not been accepted. It is imperative that you return the response form. Failure to register your group’s participation will result in the inability to participate in the Homecoming 2022 parade and attend the game at no cost. We look forward to having you celebrate Homecoming 2022 with us.
