Welcome to the Family Clinic
The ASU Family Clinic is open five days a week to serve the medical and healthcare needs of Alcorn students, faculty, and staff as well as residents of Natchez and surrounding communities. The clinic is staffed with a family nurse practitioner to provide accessible, cost-effective health care. We emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and acute episodic outpatient medical care.
Mission
Our mission is to maintain, improve, or restore the health and well-being of students through an accessible, quality health care program that emphasizes campus-wide health education, health promotion and outpatient medical care. The unique mission of the ASU Family Clinic is essential to the University for meeting its teaching, research and public service mission.
Location
The ASU Family Clinic is located at 15 Campus Drive on the Natchez Campus of Alcorn State University. For questions, or to make an appointment, call 601-304-4375 (Fax: 601-304-4355).
Hours
The clinic is open Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clinic is closed weekends, holidays, and announced university closures. During these times, students are to use outpatient health care resources.
Eligibility For Care
Medical services are available to all students, faculty, staff and community. ASU students can use their student health insurance. UnitedHealthcare Student Insurance allows 20 clinic visits a year. Students will have a minimum co-pay for services. Please call the clinic for more details.
Services
Services provided by the ASU Family Clinic include but are not limited to:
- TB Screening
- Immunizations required for Clinical Visits
- Dispense over the counter medication
- Family Planning with most contraception paid for by the MS State Department of Health
- Treat acute and chronic illness
- Referral to Specialty Physicians
