The mission of the Acquisitions Department is to build, develop, organize, preserve, and maintain a quality collection of library materials that will meet the planned instructional, research and public service needs of the University.
The Acquisitions Department is responsible for acquiring materials which have been selected for the library’s collection. These items include books, periodicals, audio-visuals, microforms, and electronic resources.
Acquisitions works closely with other academic departments, librarians, the Library Advisory Committee (LAC) and other faculty to build the library's collection in support of the teaching, research and service missions of the University. The Acquisitions Department is located on the second floor of the library.
