Alcorn State University's archival collection, located on the second floor of the J.D. Boyd Library, is your source for all things related to the history of the university. This mission of the Archives / Special Collections is to preserve printed materials relative to the history, development and character of Alcorn State University.
Looking for something old, something borrowed, something purple and gold, the Archives / Special Collections has it. They have artifacts from the foundering of the university until present. Some of the items include are yearbooks, media guides, class schedule books, and mementos from groundbreakings.

How to Use the Archives / Special Collections
If you need information from the Archives/ Special Collections, come by the center on the second floor of the library, or call Ms. Joanna Williams at 601.887.2359 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org during the hours of operation. She will help you with your information request. Items in this section of the library are non-circulating.
Archives Reading Room
Because items in the Archives/ Special Collections are non-circulating a room is provided in the area for reading and reviewing of material. This room is open during the operating hours of archives department. If someone needs to use material such as books when the department is closed, Ms. Williams may put them on the reserves self in the Circulations department. Ms. Williams must know in advance if you choose to use the latter option for obtain information.
